ABOUT ERASMUS+ PROGRAM

Erasmus+ is a European Union Programme that supports actions in the fields of Education, Training, Youth and Sport and provides grants for a wide range of activities. The Erasmus+ Programme gives opportunities to students, trainees, staff and volunteers to spend a period abroad to increase and improve their skills and competences. It also supports organisations to work in transnational partnerships and to share innovative practices.

The Erasmus + Programme covers decentralised and centralised actions. The decentralised actions are managed in each programme country by National Agencies that are appointed by National Authorities. The centralised actions are managed at European level by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) located in Brussels.

The Erasmus+ Programme comprises three different key actions (KA):

  • KA1 Learning Mobility of Individuals,

  • KA 2 Cooperation for Innovation and Good Practices, and

  • KA 3 Support to Policy Reforms.

Key-action 2: Strategic PartnerShips

Strategic Partnerships is a decentralised action within Key Action 2 to support the development, transfer and/or implementation of innovative practices, as well as the implementation of joint initiatives promoting cooperation, peer learning and exchange of experiences at European level.

Strategic Partnerships are open to any type of organisation active in any field of education, training and youth, as well as to organisations carrying out activities that are transversal to different fields (e.g. local and regional authorities, recognition and validation centres, chambers of commerce, trade organisations, guidance centres, cultural organisations). Depending on the priority addressed by the project, Strategic Partnerships should involve the most appropriate and diverse range of partners to benefit from their different experiences, profiles and specific expertise and to produce relevant and high quality project results.

The Conference is open to Adult Education stakeholders and the Contact Seminar is aimed at Portuguese and other European institutions with no previous experience in Erasmus+ projects. The objective is to promote and highlight the importance of Adult Education to European society and to identify partnerships to develop Adult Education projects with more quality and greater impact.
